Gunmen who killed ex-sarpanch in Pulwama identified: Police

The deceased, identified as Fayaz Ahmad, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Kakapora, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen from his house early today morning, and later shot dead.

Police on Monday claimed to have identified the gunmen who shot dead an ex-sarpanch in Chewa Kalan area of Pulwama in south Kashmir.

A spokesman said that police have “identified the gunmen involved in this crime and efforts are on to nab the killers.

The deceased, identified as Fayaz Ahmad, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Kakapora, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen from his house early today morning, and later shot dead.

“Police has registered FIR and started investigations into his killing,” said the spokesman.

Ex-sarpanch killed in Pulwama village

Unidentified gunmen on Monday killed a former sarpanch in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Local reports said that Fayaz Ahmad, a resident of Kakapora village of the district, was found dead in a Chewa Kalan village.

A top police official said that Ahmad was picked up by militants from his home early Monday morning and later killed in Chewa Kalan village.
