Despite court orders, officials reluctant to dismantle concrete structure beside water canal

Srinagar, Jan 12, CNS: Some vested interest elements have erected a concrete wall on the banks of a water canal at Wahipora Tangmarg area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The locals alleged that administration is in deep slumber while the Revenue officials are reluctant to act against the violators.

Scores of people from the area who emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar said that concrete wall will prove disastrous for the water canal as it will turn arable land into arid one.

“Despite court directions to Tehsildar to dismantle the said concrete wall, the officials didn’t comply against the violators for unknown reasons,” the protesters told news agency CNS.

They appealed Divisional Commissioner to direct concerned officials to act against the violators and dismantle the said concrete wall. (CNS)
