Darjeeling turns battleground: Civilian killed, 35 securitymen injured in clashes over separate Gorkhaland
This was the first death since violent protests returned to Darjeeling on June 8, after a gap of a few years.

Darjeeling/Kolkata: Violent protests over a separate Gorkhaland state continued in the hill town of Darjeeling on Saturday as clashes broke out between GJM activists and security forces at several places, killing a civilian and wounding at least 35 CRPF jawans.

The hill town, which has been on the boil for the past 10 days, saw protests and arson taking the centrestage, as the GJM activists, including its women wing, clashed with the police to press for their demand.
