MENDHAR: Students of Govt Degree College Mendhar on Tuesday staged a protest against the persecution of Rohingya Muslims by fanatic Buddhists in Burma.
Scores of students took out a protest rally from GDC Mendhar to Main Bazar to condemn the killings and persecution of Rohingyas.

The protesting students raised slogans in favour of Rohingya Muslims while carrying placards with messages like ‘Stop killing of Innocent Muslims in Burma’.

The students chanted pro-Islam and anti-Myanmar government slogans while demanding halt to killings of Rohingyas.
They also raised slogans against Aung San Sui Kyi, the de facto head of the Myanmar government.

Nearly three lakh Rohingyas have fled after the recent offensive by the military and mobs on Muslims in Rakhine state.
